One Mediator

21 October 2026

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

I'm sure most of you know that a mediator is a chosen person who acts and facilitates between two parties to reconcile any differences in order to bring perfect peace between both!

This is why Paul wrote: There is One God, and One Mediator between God and men, the Man, Jesus Christ.

Jesus became fully human and yet stayed fully Divine, which makes Him uniquely equipped to represent both God unto us and us unto God, and that's why He is thé One and Only MEDIATOR between God and us.

Nobody else could've ever stood in the gap between us and God but Jesus, representing both equally and able to reconcile us fully back in perfect peace with one another.

Thanks to Jesus, we may enjoy the Father's presence through Him, praise and worship the Father through Him, pray unto our Father through Him, and live through Him, for because of Jesus' mediation, there is now perfect peace between those who believe in Him and our Father!

Sadly, many people think religion can mediate between us and God, or sincere offerings or deeds, yet nothing and nobody can mediate except Jesus!

And here's the beauty of it all: God selected Christ to be our Mediator, not us!

And that's exactly why Paul wrote this about Jesus right AFTER he reminded every believer of our role in this world, as he wrote: I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is  good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:1‭-‬4).

See why Paul straight away reminded us that Christ is our Mediator, for just as HE CHANGED OUR UNGODLINESS THROUGH BEING OUR MEDIATOR, so our prayer and intercession for kings and people in authority UNTO JESUS may also allow our Mediator to bring peace between THEM and God, and us and them!

Well, Paul reminded us that our actions in Christ may lead to a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

What a privilege to talk to Jesus and pray for those in leadership offices, knowing He will mediate our requests and bless us to lead a quiet and peaceable life in Him!

Amen
